 Super news people! The new Melrose Place will star Laura Leighton as Sydney running the place. Sydney will be the new land lord of 4616 Melrose Place in the new series and I could not be more psyched!
Wait, wait. Isn’t she dead? YES! Sydney died in the season finale of season 5 episode 34 “Who’s Afraid of Amanda Woodward (2)” as she got her butt RUN OVER by Sam and her father, in her wedding dress non e the less. Man, that is just good TV!
Yep, so now she is coming back. I have no idea how they are going to pull this one off, but I can’t wait to find out. It’s going to be so sweet. Anyway, in case you did not know Laura Leighton is married to former Melrose Place star Doug Savant, who played Matt and now plays Tom Scavo on Desperate Housewives. Now, it seems that the cast is complete and shooting will start next week. Awesome. :) |

 90210 star Ryan Eggold who plays the English teacher on 90210 will be moving to Melrose Place. He will be playing the same character and be in both shows at once. Now THAT is sweet! Kind of like a comic book crossover.
I think that this provides for a great way to see the contrast between someone’s personal and professional life. Also, it gives opportunity for additional crossovers later. Will it work, or will it suck?

 No, it’s not Summer Glau. Yes, we all wish it was.
Stephanie Jacobsen will be joining the cast as a character named Lauren. Lauren is a UCLA med student who spends extra time as a high end call girl. Sounds to me like Sydney with a little more ambition!
Stephanie Jacobson has been in some great Sci-Fi including Farscape, Battlestar Galactica, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and the new upcoming movie Quantum Apocalypse. This will be quite a change for her, but I am looking forward to seeing what will happen!

Andrew Shue, who played Billy Campbell on the original Melrose Place series, has been away from acting since the 90’s save for the tear jerker, Gracie in 2007 and the soccer movie Goal! III. So what HAS he been up to? Well, Andrew Shue is a co-founder of the social network for mom’s, CafeMom.com.
CafeMom.com has everything a mom needs to know and a huge network to help in the advice area (that is if you are tired of taking your mother in-law’s advice).

 We can now put a face to another name! Riley Richmond will be played by Jessica Lucas, the young star from “Cloverfield”.
Riley Richmond is a wealthy 24 year old elementary school teacher who is engaged to Jonah (Michael Rady)
Jessica has also had a recurring role on the new 90210 as Kimberly MacIntyre. |

Well people, it looks like Mischa Barton will not be joining the cast of the new Melrose Place. She has been reported to have signed a contract to be on Ashton Kutcher's new show called "A Beautiful Life" where she will play a self absorbed teen model. Oh well. I can't wait to see who is next! |

 Well, it looks like my last prediction was wrong. I had thought that Mischa Barton was on her way to playing the role of Violet Foster, but it looks like that role has been given to Ashlee Simpson, 24 year old sister of Jessica Simpson. I am sure that she will be able to pull this role off pretty well, and I am looking forward to seeing her.
It seems that Mischa Barton is actually being courted for the part of Riley Richmond, a school teacher who longs for the highlife or a med student of some sort (I have not heard anything else about that character, so drop me a line if you know anything.) Anyway, Ashlee Simpson is excited to be joining… looking forward to working with… blah blah blah, whatever. It seems that there are still some negotiations going on with Heather Locklear also. Both parties are at the table and talking, so let’s hope that they come up with something soon!
